Parochial VicarFr. Jofin comes to us from southern India, from the State of Kerala, and is the son of George and Philomina. Fr. Jofin’s birthday is August 9, 1980, and he is 42 years old.
He attended seminary in India from 1998 to 2008 and was ordained on February 14, 2009. Since his ordination, he has had five previous assignments, his most recent one as pastor of two parishes in India from 2015 to 2022. Fr. Jofin said that his hobbies are reading and traveling.
We are blessed to have a priest, willing to come halfway around the world to minister to us at St. Jude. At the top of his biography page he wrote his personal motto, “to love and to serve.” What a profound motto for our priest. It reminds us of the Gospel, which describes how Jesus sent out the seventy-two disciples without money bags, a sack, or sandals. He sent them to proclaim that “the Kingdom of God is at hand.” Fr. Jofin has come to us as one who has been sent. Let us give him a warm St. Jude welcome.
