I am a native Mississippian and a cradle Catholic. I grew up in Canton, Mississippi, and married my high school sweetheart, Kelly Myers, in 1977. Together we have three children and six grandchildren.
I attended Holmes Jr. College where I earned an Associate of Arts degree in 1977. I later attended Mississippi State University (1977-1978), and Belhaven College (1988-1990) where I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. Later, I received a Master of Theological Studies degree (1998) and went on to complete the Master of Arts in Biblical Studies (2002) from Spring Hill College in Mobile, Alabama. In 2010 I completed the requisite 18 post graduate credit hours for a Certificate of Spiritual Direction, also from Spring Hill College. In 2010, I entered into formation for the permanent diaconate conducted by St. Meinrad Seminary in Meinrad, Illinois. I was ordained to the permanent diaconate in 2016. In 2011, I began doctoral studies at Oblate School of Theology in San Antonio, Texas, where I earned a Doctor of Ministry degree in 2019.
I worked in manufacturing for 38 years serving in various roles in production, engineering, sales, and management. I retired from manufacturing in 2016 to more fully dedicate my time to ministry.
